Our kids aren't geniuses (geniusi)

We all do it. We lean over our baby when they are a few weeks old when they are on the changing table. As we are changing the baby's diaper when we hear it- "hi." Yes we are so sure that he said hi. We have been saying "hi" to him since the day he was born. He's so smart.
We do this for the next year until they start to actually say something. It's innocent. We are proud of our babies and we want them to develop as quickly as possible.
My request is that you don't be one of those parents that are always one-upping. If someone is telling a story about their baby then listen. You don't have to tell them how yours is just a bit more advanced. Unless you're Cee Lo Green's Mom. He was beat boxing as an infant.
