Domesticated Party Animal

There are certain things that you don't really get the chance to do a lot after you become a dad. Partying is one of them. Caitlynne and I had some fun in college. Beer pong, cups, poor college student mixed drinks like Gatorade and McCormicks and so on.
Once we got married we were a bit more tame. After Paxton, we became even more tame.

But, last weekend we had a chance to cut loose. We were at a friends birthday party. We were having fun, and we decided to have the after party at our house. I learned some valuable lessons on balancing the life of a domesticated dad and a party amimal.

Here are some of the tips I can share with you on how to be a domesticated party animal.

1. When you are preparing for your party, make sure you remove all baby toys from your entertaining space. Baby stuff is cute, but doesn't set the mood. It's all about feng shui (yes, it took Google to get that spelling correct).

2. Check your Pandora BEFORE you turn it on. This one is a biggie. "Come on man, turn on some music!" You hook your iPhone to the speakers, open Pandora and walk away. You're a really cool person, so you don't even fret about what station it's on. However, you were not as cool last night when you had it on the Soundscapes and Lullaby station. You might end up like this guy.

3. Drink premium beers that require fruit. You're ultra cool because you drink mysterious beers but you're also scoring some big points with the wife because the disposal gets the fresh smell
