Wait until Monday

There are some great proposal stories out there. Elaborate plans on how to ask that special person to spend the rest of their lives with you. Or, maybe it's the romantic or special story about how you met.

What about the story about how you found out you were pregnant? I'm not talking about how you told you spouse or your parents. I'm talking about how you found out in the first place. That first 100% confirmation that you received.

Most of you probably don't have that interesting of a story. We sure do.

The feeling that we were pregnant hit us like a ton of bricks. It was a Friday night. We just realized that there was a chance. So, we went to the store and bought one of those stupid tests with the plus sign that lights up. We waited until the morning like we were supposed to.

The vertical line was so light. To the point where we just kept staring at it like "hmmm... I think that's how it comes in the box." So, we went to the store and put down the big bucks on one that would tell us for sure.

When it said pregnant my heart dropped down into my feet. I couldn't believe it. So, there we were. It's Saturday afternoon and this was just dropped in our laps. We had to know. we couldn't wait until Monday. So, we started calling around to see who could do a medical test. There was one Planned Parenthood that was still open.

There we were. Sitting in a room where mostly bad news is delivered. We knew we were pregnant because the test said so, but we weren't bummed like those who had sat in these seats before us. The nurse walks in and says "Well, you're not pregnant, you surprised?" We were very surprised. Everything says those tests don't give false positives. While that shock was still going through our system another nurse peeks her head into the room and says "Did you grab CM's results, or MC?" The look on our nurse's face was full of shame and "oh shit."

Our nurse stepped out of the room. They started talking. Trying to figure out how to tell us they gave us the wrong results. We could hear them. They were right outside the door. They knew they made the mistake and they were trying to figure a way out of it.

They finally came back in and fed us some BS about how the test wasn't strong enough to determine, but it was saying pregnant so they were reversing the results they had originally given us. They thought they were so smooth but their story didn't even make sense and we could hear them outside the door.

It was a complete mess that was a wild emotional roller coaster ride. We'll probably just wait until Monday on the next one.

Oh, and what about the poor 16 year old who was told she was pregnant when she wasn't?
